Rubber Chicken Theater celebrates life in the Twin Ports with their sixth annual Holiday Comedy Revue.
This year's show is entitled How the Grinch Shut Down Christmas, or, I Saw Rudolph Twerking Santa Claus.
The show will be staged December 13-14, 20-21, 27-28, and there will also be a New Year's Eve Gala on December 31.
All performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be staged at the Spirit of the North Theater in the Fitger's Complex.
Tickets are $15 per person - Group rates are available.
Beer and wine will be available from Midi Restaurant. (which always makes the show much more entertaining).
Rubber Chicken Theater has been writing and performing sketch comedy revues ever since the group's inception in 2008.
Revues are like local versions of Saturday Night Live and come from a long theatrical tradition started by that wacky Greek playwright Aristophanes.
They feature original comedy sketches that poke fun at local, regional, and national issues. Some of the topics tackled in How the Grinch Shut Down Christmas include Paula Deen apologies, balloonless Balloonfests, the state of gay marriage in the state of Minnesota, and how that Grinch actually goes about stealing another Christmas tradition: Bentleyville.
How the Grinch Shut Down Christmas is being directed by Greg J. Anderson, a veteran of Rubber Chicken Theater revues: having written and performed in every single one.
Joining Anderson in this sixth annual Rubber Chicken Revue will be local theater veterans Anders Hultstrom, Minden Hultstrom, Sharon Dixon Obst, Taylor Martin-Romme, Anna Vogt, and the troupe's founder Brian Matuszak.
Mike Anderson is overseeing the technical elements and Linda Bray is the piano accompanist extraordinaire. Additional material is being written by Jeremy Churchill and Luke Moravec.
